Analysis of Character

Image
CHARACTER Jane Based on what I observed Jane is a obsessed fan girl of a huge desire to meet his  celebrity idol Paulo Avelino. She is wild and unpredictable girl. But somehow she isn’t the vulnerable teen she seems to me as she is very capable of taking matters into her own hands. Paulo Paulo is fictionalized version of himself.A celebrity which has character of multilayered and unpredictable.I can say that he make a decision instantly has a violent performance in the film CONCLUSION     For me the character of  Jane has a cruelty fate that's the reason for her to escape from it is to idolize Paul Avelino to make her feel better about her situation to have some pleasant vibes at least in her imagination.I learn in this movie that I should not be vulnerable because we need first to thinks our decisions if it will be good for us or not.I am also a fan of some celebrities mostly a kpop artist that's why I understand where is she coming from because once you are being fan...

Summary of The Story

Image
As I watch, Jane (Charlie Dizon) is a 16-year-old simple high school student who is madly in love with celebrity actor Paulo Avelino (played a real-life celebrity Paulo Avelino himself). She is very much in Paulo's personal life, including details he is unable to recall. She jumps in the back of his pickup truck one day and ends up at his house. She unintentionally witnesses him drinking, smoking cocaine, and having sex with a married fan with whom he has an affair as well as a child. Paulo and Jane reveal their most dark and painful secrets to each other during a car talk.Paulo lets Jane sleep in his spare bedroom, and the next day they become friends. They develop a relationship. Jane, despite her inexperience, drinks, smokes, and even tries a spliff for the first time.I feel the  sensations are unavoidable: she becomes drunk and vomits. Despite the intoxication, she maintains her unfailing admiration for Paulo. She claims he's "even sexier in everyday life" and want...

Background of the Study

Antoinette Jadaone’s Fan Girl, bowing in the Tokyo Film Festival, dives far deeper into the psyche of its titular teenage heroine than most films about obsessed fans, groupies and hangers-on.I can see the rawness with which the story develops and its far from happy conclusions stand out in the career of Jadaone, who is one of the top romance film directors in the Philippines (Alone/Together, Never Not Love You). I appreciate her view of reality may be too adult and graphic for her regular audiences, but it’s a film that could be well appreciated on the international festival circuit. Also remarkable is the decisiveness with which Filipino star Paulo Avelino, who plays himself, puts his name and body on the line. Though the character he plays comes across as fictional, the role involves male frontal nudity and various degrees of misbehavior that could be a cold shower (or perhaps titillating) to his rom-com fans. For me it is nonetheless an engaging if volatile performance, and mos...

About Page

Until I finished Fan Girl, no Filipino film had struggles with and left me in inner pain. For one thing, it's a film deserving of the excitement. Since last year, director Antoinette Jadaone (of Six Degrees of Separation from Lillia Cuntapay and That Thing Called Tadhana) has announced that she is working on a film about fangirling, with Paulo Avelino playing himself as an idol.      Fan Girl was released a few months before and made it to the Tokyo International Film Festival, garnering positive reviews. Though ironic, I was still happy that the film enjoys online streams for the Metro Manila Film Festival. The trailer has the potential to amuse the interest and excitement of any movie critic. I didn't read any of the early reviews because I heard they contained spoilers. I knew you want to know more about the fan girl so what are you waiting for read it now.
